    The EMCC Lions claimed their 10th consecutive MACJC North Division victory dating back to last season with Thursday’s 68-62 road victory over Northwest Mississippi at Howard Coliseum. The Lady Lions also remained unbeaten in division play this year with a 71-62 win over the Lady Rangers in women’s action.

    EMCC’s Lions used a 20-0 second-half run to stay unbeaten in the MACJC’s North Division by posting a 69-56 home win over Coahoma during Monday night basketball action played at Keyes T. Currie Coliseum. The Lady Lions opened the night by claiming their seventh consecutive victory with a 79-48 win over the visiting Lady Tigers in women’s action.
  • Lions improve to 2-0 in division hoops play with 70-66 home victory over Holmes

    The EMCC Lions improved to 2-0 in MACJC North Division play by claiming a 70-66 home win over visiting Holmes Community College during Thursday’s action played at Keyes T. Currie Coliseum. In women’s play, the Lady Lions won their sixth straight game and also moved to 2-0 within the division with a 55-36 victory over the Lady Bulldogs.
  • Lions battle back from double-digit deficit before falling, 63-62, at home to Meridian

    In their first game action following the semester break, the EMCC Lions battled back from a double-digit deficit before dropping a heartbreaking 63-62 home decision to Meridian Community College during Monday’s MACJC action played at Keyes T. Currie Coliseum. EMCC’s Lady Lions opened the doubleheader by claiming their fifth straight win with a 61-48 victory over the visiting Lady Eagles.
  • Lions set to resume action by hosting Meridian to tip off three-game hoops home stand

    The East Mississippi Community College basketball teams return from the semester break to tip off a three-game home stand with Monday’s hoops doubleheader against Meridian Community College on the Scooba campus.  A 5:30 p.m. women’s game will be followed by a 7:30 p.m. men’s contest at Keyes T. Currie Coliseum.

    The EMCC Lions successfully opened MACJC North Division play by grinding out a 63-57 road win over Mississippi Delta Monday evening at J.T. Hall Coliseum. The Lady Lions contributed to the doubleheader sweep with a commanding 85-55 victory over the Lady Trojans in women’s action.
  • Lions complete season series sweep over East Central with 90-77 road win

    The East Mississippi Community College men’s basketball team completed a season series sweep over East Central with a 90-77 road win over the Warriors during Thursday’s MACJC hoops action at Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium. The EMCC Lady Lions opened the night with a convincing 67-43 victory over the Lady Warriors in women’s action.
  • EMCC Lions stay undefeated at home with 105-40 victory over Royal Ambassadors Prep

    The East Mississippi Community College men’s basketball team remained unbeaten at home with Monday’s commanding 105-40 victory over Royal Ambassadors Prep at Keyes T. Currie Coliseum. The Lady Lions also stayed undefeated at home on the year with a 72-53 win over Snead State Community College in the women’s opener.
  • EMCC Lions drop hard-fought 80-73 decision at No. 19 Shelton State

    The EMCC Lions faced their third straight nationally ranked opponent in five days only to drop a hard-fought 80-73 decision to No. 19 Shelton State Community College during Monday night doubleheader basketball action at the Umphrey Center. In women’s action, the Lady Lions fell to the fifth-ranked Lady Buccaneers, 79-52, to begin the night.

    East Mississippi Community College’s Jakorie Smith has been selected as the MACJC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after averaging a double-double during a pair of quality regular-season tournaments a week ago.
  • EMCC men stay unbeaten with pair of wins at PRCC tourney; Lions head to Florida for more tourney action

    The undefeated Lions of East Mississippi Community College picked up a pair of key basketball victories at this week’s PRCC Wildcat Classic hosted by Pearl River Community College at Marvin R. White Coliseum.  After knocking off previously unbeaten LSU Eunice by a single point (67-66) on Monday, EMCC came back the following day to claim a convincing 85-40 win over fellow Region 23 foe Baton Rouge Community College on Tuesday.

    The East Mississippi Community College Lions remained unbeaten on the young season after holding on for an 88-85 home victory over East Central Community College during Thursday night MACJC basketball action played at Keyes T. Currie Coliseum.  The EMCC women improved to 4-0 on the year by claiming a solid 73-57 win over the visiting Lady Warriors.

    Powered by freshman Jakorie Smith’s 29 points, the East Mississippi Community College men’s basketball team held on for a 73-70 road victory over Meridian Community College during MACJC Monday night hoops action played at MCC’s Graham Gymnasium. In women’s action, EMCC’s Lady Lions pulled away from the home-standing Lady Eagles in the second half to successfully open their season with a 65-54 win.

    East Mississippi Community College’s 2019-20 basketball season officially tips off Friday afternoon (Nov. 1) when Coach Billy Begley’s reigning MACJC champion Lions play host to the Jackson-based Blessed IJN Prep Academy post grad team on the Scooba campus.  Game time for EMCC’s hoops season opener is slated for 1 p.m. at EMCC’s Keyes T. Currie Coliseum, and there will be no charge for admission.
  • EMCC to hold “Late Nite with the Lions” preseason basketball event Monday on Scooba campus

    East Mississippi Community College fans will have an opportunity to preview the 2019-20 editions of the Lions and Lady Lions basketball teams during Monday’s “Late Nite with the Lions” preseason event on the Scooba campus.  Action is slated to begin at 9 p.m. at EMCC’s Keyes T. Currie Coliseum with no charge for admission.
