The Lions of East Mississippi Community College concluded their 2016 baseball season on a positive note by claiming a 6-5 comeback victory during Tuesday’s nightcap to earn a season-ending home doubleheader split with Southwest Mississippi at Gerald Poole Field. EMCC was able to recover nicely after dropping the high-scoring opener, 15-14, in 11 innings despite having an early lead.

The Lions of East Mississippi Community College rallied for a pair of come-from-behind road wins by sweeping Coahoma, 5-3 and 8-7, during Tuesday afternoon MACJC baseball action played at the Eddie C. Smith Sportsplex.

The East Mississippi Community College baseball team got into the win column in conference play in dramatic fashion by pulling out a 12-11, extra-inning win during Tuesday's opening game at Holmes Community College. The Lions then completed the road doubleheader sweep at Charlie Donald Field in impressive style while riding the right arm of freshman Alex Knight's 5-0 shutout victory over the Bulldogs in the nightcap.

Alex Knight's walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh lifted East Mississippi Community College to a 3-2 nightcap win and a baseball doubleheader split with Southern Union State Community College Tuesday afternoon at Tartt Field on the University of West Alabama campus. EMCC was shut out in the opener, 5-0, by the visiting Bison.

EMCC Lions set to open baseball season this weekend at tourney hosted by top-ranked Northwest Florida State

Having averaged 30 wins during the past two years, the East Mississippi Community College baseball team is set to begin the 2016 campaign with as much preseason optimism as the previous two successful seasons. The Lions are slated to open the new season this weekend at the Carl McInnis Classic, hosted by preseason top-ranked and defending NJCAA Division I National Champion Northwest Florida State College in Niceville.
