For the second time in three years, East Mississippi Community College can claim a national champion in collegiate rodeo. Tristan Martin captured the individual steer wrestling national championship during Saturday night’s championship round of the 2018 College National Finals Rodeo held at the Casper Events Center in Wyoming.
East Mississippi Community College is set to make the school’s eighth consecutive appearance in the College National Finals Rodeo at next week’s (June 10-16) event in Casper, Wyo. With competition slated to begin Sunday, the week-long CNFR will conclude with next Saturday night’s championship round at the Casper Events Center.
On the heels of posting consecutive Top 10 men’s team national finishes, East Mississippi Community College will be represented in next month’s College National Finals Rodeo by a trio of cowboys making a return appearance at the CNFR. EMCC’s Tristan Martin, Jace Harris and Ethan Wheeler have qualified to compete in this year’s CNFR, set for June 10-16 at the Casper Events Center in Casper, Wyo.
The East Mississippi Community College men’s rodeo team capped the 2017-18 Ozark Region regular-season slate with a spring-best, third-place finish this past weekend at the annual Ranger Rodeo, presented by Sycamore Bank and the Northcentral Electric Power Association.
