Exciting collegiate rodeo action returns to Meridian this week when East Mississippi Community College hosts its annual intercollegiate rodeo at the Lauderdale County Agri-Center for the second straight year. The National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association-sanctioned event, presented by HMR Veterans Services, Inc., begins Thursday and runs through Saturday night’s finals.
The East Mississippi Community College men’s rodeo team placed fifth this past weekend at the 42nd annual Murray State University Racer Roundup. The three-day NIRA Ozark Rodeo event concluded Saturday night at the Bill Cherry Expo Center.
Coming off back-to-back Top 10 national finishes the past two years, the East Mississippi Community College men’s rodeo team successfully opened the 2017-18 National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association’s Ozark Region slate by claiming first-place honors this past weekend in an event hosted by Pearl River Community College. The three-day PRCC college rodeo concluded Saturday night at the James Lynn Cartlidge Forrest County Multi-Purpose Center.
