EMCC’s “Sophomore Day” softball DH with Northwest moved to Friday on Scooba campus

Due to continuing wet field conditions following Monday’s significant rainfall and the midweek threat of additional rain, East Mississippi Community College’s scheduled home softball doubleheader against Northwest Mississippi has been moved to Friday afternoon on the Scooba campus. With pre-game “Sophomore Day” recognitions set to begin at 3:30 p.m., Friday’s first pitch is slated for 4 p.m. at the EMCC Softball Field.

After holding on to beat host MCC 6-3 and coming back to knock off Shelton State 7-6 in nine innings on Friday, the Lions dropped a tough 2-0 decision Saturday morning to preseason fourth-ranked Chipola College before concluding the two-day tournament at Northeast Park with an 8-6 afternoon setback to Copiah-Lincoln.
