The seventh-seeded Lady Lions of East Mississippi Community College began defense of their MACCC Women’s Basketball Tournament Championship from two seasons ago by posting a 61-54 win over No. 2 seed Southwest Mississippi during Monday’s quarterfinal-round action of this year’s MACCC Basketball Tournament being played this week at the Marvin R. White Coliseum on the campus of Pearl River Community College.
The short-handed EMCC Lady Lions never got on track offensively in dropping a 59-49 road decision to East Central during Thursday's MACCC women's basketball action played at Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium.
East Mississippi Community College will tip off its 2021-22 basketball season with a home doubleheader against different MACCC foes Monday evening (Nov. 1) on the Scooba campus. EMCC’s Lady Lions will take on the Holmes Lady Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Lions entertaining the Copiah-Lincoln Wolves at 7:30 p.m. at Keyes T. Currie Coliseum.
