EMCC Lions earn doubleheader baseball split at Co-Lin with first conference win

Cade Davis’ four-hit complete game and a pair of Rye McGlothin homers lifted visiting East Mississippi Community College to a doubleheader split at Copiah-Lincoln during Saturday’s MACCC baseball action played at Walter R. Sullivan Field. EMCC’s 6-1 nightcap victory followed a 6-5 setback to the home-standing Wolves in the opening game.

The visiting Lions of East Mississippi Community College earned a road split against the preseason 11th-ranked Northeast Mississippi Tigers with an 8-7 comeback win during the nightcap of Tuesday’s doubleheader played at the Northeast Baseball Complex. Northeast claimed the opener with a 3-2 nine-inning victory over EMCC.

The East Mississippi Community College baseball team successfully opened the 2021 season with wins over MACCC North Division foes Itawamba and Northeast Mississippi during Friday’s three-way matchup played at the Northeast Baseball Complex. Following a 9-3 nine-inning victory over ICC, the Lions capped the day’s season-opening action with a 3-2 triumph over host Northeast.
