Exciting collegiate rodeo action returns to the Lauderdale County Agri-Center this coming week (March 18-20), as East Mississippi Community College’s 9th Annual Intercollegiate Rodeo kicks off Thursday in Meridian. The three-day event will conclude with Saturday night’s championship round.
At the midway point of the 2020-21 college rodeo season, the East Mississippi Community College men’s and women’s teams both rank among the nation’s top 10 in the fall season standings of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA).
East Mississippi Community College collected four individual event championships to earn third-place team finishes in men’s and women’s competition at the Three Rivers College Championship College Rodeo held this past weekend in Sikeston, Missouri. The three-day NIRA Ozark Region event concluded Saturday evening at the Art Saunders Arena in the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo Grounds.
East Mississippi Community College’s 2020-21 sports season looks to officially get underway this week (Sept. 17-19) as the EMCC men’s and women’s rodeo teams are scheduled to open the fall portion of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association’s Ozark Region schedule in Missouri.
