Lucy Lunceford closes out EMCC golf career as two-time NJCAA Championship participant

Lucy Lunceford closed out her successful East Mississippi Community College golf career in her hometown by tying for 49th place at this week’s NJCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championship played at Tuscaloosa’s Ol’ Colony Golf Complex.

Trio of EMCC cowboys qualifies for College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming

East Mississippi Community College has qualified three student-athletes for the upcoming College National Finals Rodeo. Based on year-ending Ozark Region standings, steer wrestling champion Carson Powell, reserve champion team roping header Sanders McElroy, and additional team roping header qualifier Ryder Griffith are all scheduled to participate in next month’s (June 14-20) prestigious CNFR to be held at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper, Wyoming.

East Mississippi Community College’s 2026 baseball season came to a close with a 9-6 setback to 21st-ranked Itawamba in Thursday’s elimination game of the NJCAA Region 23 Baseball Tournament played at the Clark/Gay Baseball Complex.

Seeded seventh in this week's NJCAA Region 23 Baseball Tournament, East Mississippi Community College will take on nationally 21st-ranked Itawamba during Thursday's weather-delayed elimination game being played at the Clark/Gay Baseball Complex in Decatur. Delayed one day due to weather concerns on Wednesday, first pitch for Thursday's EMCC-ICC matchup is set for 6 p.m. following the 2 p.m. winners' bracket game between host and nationally second-ranked East Central and sixth-seeded Northwest Mississippi.

Sophomore Lucy Lunceford will have an opportunity to close out her East Mississippi Community College playing career by participating in next week’s (May 12-15) 2026 NJCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championship on her home course after earning a second straight at-large selection to the upcoming national tournament.

The seventh-seeded Lions of East Mississippi Community College advanced to regional tournament play of the 2026 NJCAA Region 23 Baseball Tournament with a 9-5 victory over 10th-seeded Northeast Mississippi during Monday's play-in game at the Clark/Gay Baseball Complex in Decatur. EMCC moves on to meet nationally second-ranked and regional host East Central Community College during Tuesday's Game 1 of the four-team regional tournament to be played at 2 p.m.

Set to make their fourth postseason baseball appearance in the last five years, the seventh-seeded Lions of East Mississippi Community College will take on No. 10 seed Northeast Mississippi during Monday’s (May 4) play-in game being played in Decatur. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. at the Clark/Gay Baseball Complex on the campus of East Central Community College. The winner will advance to the four-team, double-elimination bracket of the ECCC-hosted 2026 NJCAA Region 23 Baseball Tournament.

Aiming at securing their fourth postseason appearance over the past five years, the Lions of East Mississippi Community College moved another step closer to doing just that by earning a crucial home doubleheader split with Mississippi Gulf Coast during Sunday’s MACCC baseball action played at Gerald Poole Field. In a twin bill postponed a day due to the weekend’s weather forecast, EMCC bounced back with a 16-5 run-rule win in the nightcap after dropping the opener to the Bulldogs by the same score.
